Biography

Len has a history of air monitoring experience unsurpassed in Australia, with well over 40 years experience in the measurement and management of air quality (29 years with the NSW EPA, and 15 years in consultancy. In the late 1980's he was responsible for the first major Australian studies on indoor air pollution. Recent indoor air activities include the unflued gas appliance emissions study in homes; and the development of the National Database on Indoor Air Pollution for the Federal Department of Environment and Heritage. Len is Past President, Life Member and Fellow of CASANZ (Peak professional body on air pollution), Foundation Chairman of the National Training Activities Committee (CASANZ) 1985-1992, Chairman Standards Association of Australia Committee EV/7 on Methods for the Examination of Air for 20 years. Mr. Ferrari has published over sixty scientific papers and books on air quality. He initiated and signed off the FASTS/CASANZ Report on Indoor Air Quality in Australia.
