Dr Heike Neumeister-Kemp is currently a Director and Chief Mycologist & Mould Investigator at Mycologia Australia, Australia's only laboratory for Environmental Mycology. She is an internationally recognized expert in the field of Environmental Mycology (mould and fungi), particularly as it relates to indoor environments.
She is the Chairperson of the Special Interest Group on Indoor Air Quality for the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ). In 2005 she wrote the first Australian Guideline for Mould Remediation, which has lead to many radio and television interviews and has become affectionately knows as "the mould lady".
Dr Kemp is currently busy travelling around Australia delivering training courses in the area of microbial sampling, HVAC investigations, indoor fungi, mould remediation, cleaning and indoor air quality. She is an enthusiastic and passionate trainer and has inspired many participants to change their ways to more eco and human friendly ways of cleaning and healthy living.
She is widely publish in the peer reviewed scientific literature has presented her research at many national and international conferences, the most recent being the IUAPPA 2007 Conference in Queensland. Dr Kemp regularly presents free seminars and talks on mould, low impact cleaning and indoor air quality for a number of communities.
Dr. Kemp also currently holds a position as a Research Associate at Murdoch University and teaches Biological and Environmental Science at University and TAFE level and is a key organiser for the CASANZ 2009 Conference in Perth.
